airforce101t Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 Ok, heres the problem: I have a wireless networking witha D-link router and satellite internet. The internet goes directly into my primary computer (USB connection only). The problem is that when i try to share the connection i get the error in the pic bellow. I guess my router and ICS are trying to use the same IP address and I dont know how to change either one. ANY help would be appreciated. Mr_Yuck Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 start, programs, communications, network connections, double click the local area connection, click properties, click Internet Protocol, click properties, specify ip address, all 3 numbers the same, make the last number something else other than 1...like 13. H2O Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 If I understand correctly, you say that you have a D-Link router. What I don't understand is why you have ICS enabled, when you can connect your computers to the router and enable DHCP on the router. DHCP will then provide a unique IP address for each computer connected to it.

H2O Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 If you could provide me with the D-Link router model I can lookup the manual for it and help you better. As for DHCP [Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol] it should be a setting for the router which should be accessible through IP address of 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.
