Buying a bicycle

I am thinking about buying a bicycle. It HAS to be under $150. I am after a mountain bike with light street riding. Brand is of no matter to me. Looking for best bang for the buck.

Any suggestions would be great.

A bit pricy, but with some searching I'm sure you can find it for 150.

That's what I have and it is great.

Another good one (my friend has this).

152 bucks before tax etc.

I

really don't think you'll get a bicycle above Wal-Mart quality for that

price. Try going to a local bike store and asking there?

AGREED

$150 for a mountain bike or any bike of good quality is pretty hard to do.

Go for clearance Trek, Giant, or Specialized as they offer some pretty good low end bikes.

The best bike under $200 you can get from target/walmart/etc. is probably Schwinn Ranger.

I was in the lookout for a $200 MB last year and was told that it was the best (and easiest to obtain) "el cheapo" MB that you can get.

The parts (suspension, forks, cranks, brakes, derailers) are obviously low end but they are low end parts from reputable brands as opposed to other bike brands who just use junk brands...

Just go all out and get a racing mountain bike. Get a Trek Fuel 98 like me, it's only $3,500

For those wondering why I'd pay that for a bike, well, I'm a racer and that's what it takes to win.

Honestly, I'd go to a local bike shop and ask there.

Try and look about for someone who's selling a whole bike with buckled wheels or damaged forks or something, and replace the bad parts... you could get hold of a decent 07 or 08 bike for that price.
