According to XFX's website, they also have a lifetime warranty that allows OCin. (ie: If I OC the card and it burns out, they will replace it (free of charge) for the lifetime of the card, as long as I register it within 30 days of purchase

i don't think the black edition offers anything more than a factory overclock, it looks like the same cooler. imo its better to buy a non-oc'ed gpu and overclock it up to the speed of the card that is $30 more. if you are serious about clocking your gpu i would spend that $30 and buy a good gpu heatsink.

It is a factoryoverclocked ard that has excellent performance and overclocking ability. You also have a limited edition card and purchasing it gives you access to special privledges when you go to XFXs website.

I've seen the MSI one and I would get the BFG Tech one, but I havn't heard alot of BFG Tech from anyone.

The only reason Im looking at the XFX card is because it has a lifetime warranty on it that also DOES cover overclocking.

BFG has lifetime (WHICH SHOULD NOT BE A FACTOR) but I would pick the BFG over the XFX. I own that same BFG and if it OC's anything like my 260 then you are getting quite a bargain, but nowhere near the bargain you'd be getting if you bought the MSI. What's wrong with the MSI, just because it's not one of the big 3 (XFX, BFG, or EVGA), that's not to isn't say it doesn't have the same quality level as them. MSI has been around a while (1986 to be exact) It's not like they just sprouted up out of the blue and offered a far more competitive price and card to the big 3. If it would make you feel better, get the MSI, and flash it's bios to the XFX Black Edition's then you could have saved 60 dollars and still would be able to sleep at night.

I know Im posting alot of questions about graphics cards. I just dont want to buy one and have it not be very good and find out soon afterward that I could have bought another one for $10 more and have it be reliable and much better.

You know?

but it's 60 dollars not 10, you'd have a compelling argument if it was such a small increase in money but at that point I could say the 295 is only 270 dollars more. Sorry if I sound like a male's reproductive organ but it'd be idiotic to blow the extra money on the Black Edition, who knows you could get the Black Edition and it'd overclock like crap too. No chip is made equal, but you still get alot more factory performance for the dollar with the MSI.

After rebates, it would be a $40 difference actually (Im getting it for $200 after rebate if I get it)

Also, I would get the MSI card, but again, I dont know alot about MSI's warranty, or them as a company.

How good are they and what about their warranty? anyone know?

Now those are some good questions, I've certainly never heard anything bad about their service that I can remember. I may have heard that they had a good customer service but I am not sure so don't really count that as a point.

I know newegg says it has a 3 year warranty but beyond that I don't know. I wonder if they do reviews on customer support divisions of companies lol. If you were really serious then you could try calling them and pretending you have a broken card? Plus you could get the card and still have like a year with Newegg alone (which are awesome with customer service, if that makes you feel any better). Have you had alot of videocards fail on you, not that I'm saying it will happen, just saying that I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I have not dealt with BFG yet on a customer service issue but XFX has been top notch when it comes to customer service!

I actually did hear BFG is quite good, someone said they got upgraded from an 8600 to an 8800 I think. (the two model numbers may be different but it was a similar upgrade to that since they had a faulty card)

I've owned 3 BFGs but none broke on me, so I never got to test them out myself. (an 8800gtx, then a 9800gtx that I sold immediately for my 4870, and now the 260)
