Hyper Threaded Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 New core 1.24 is available for ATI users. Simply delete the old core and the new one will download. I got a bit of a boost on the HD4870. I've also seen other users getting some huge WUs and getting very high PPD.
Munkypoo7 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Can you perhaps explain how? I'd really like to squeeze some extra performance out of my 4870 too ^^
Hyper Threaded Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Erm, it's quite simple really. Browse to the folder your client is in, delete the core file (FahCore_11.exe) and the current work unit, then start the client again. New core should download and start a new work unit. Waco Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Make sure you delete the work folder as well.
psycho_terror Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 (edited) Make sure you delete the work folder as well. at first i just deleted the core as the first post suggested, then i got the error, so i deleted the work folder and the core. still not working. edit: tried reinstalling the client, which also had no effect. Well that's certainly odd. Did you clear out your queue as well?
psycho_terror Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Well that's certainly odd. Did you clear out your queue as well? i uninstalled the program, then deleted the entire folder from app data, so yes i assume i did.

road-runner Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Yes it only works with 9.3 and if using XP you need the hotfix, off course then you can experiment with all the different settings they are trying over at the folding forums to try to reduce cpu usage. More trouble than it is worth to me for about half the PPD that Nvidia cards get, anyone want to buy some ATI cards?
