I'm a big movie buff... Which one is better, NetFlix or $1 Redbox at you're local grocery store?

What's the pros and cons?

Does anyone have netflix?

Thanks

Pros for Redbox, is you can find online sites that give you free rentals :D. But you will have to google them yourself, I don't use the service.

Cons you have to do some driving to get and return movies.

NetFlix (I don't use either, but guessing):

Pros: Streaming videos to PC/TV, from what I hear a lot of Blu-Rays, several pricing packages, free shipping to and from and maybe some more.

Cons: downtime shipping to and from (not sure how long), and can't think of any other ones since I don't use the service either.

I use netflix. Not only do I get DVDs in the mail. But I can stream some anytime to my xbox 360.

Most large city have local netflix distribution centers to cut down on transit time.

I live right outside of a city. It takes me 1 day to send they receive the day they receive it they usually have it sent out, so it takes like 2 days for me to get a new dvd... Which is awesome because I can have movies in time for Friday night when I ship them on Wednesday.

I used the Blockbuster thing that is essentially the same as the Netflix. the shipping wait time was nearly non-existant. We'd put the 3 movies or so into the mailbox in the morning and the new movies would come the next day. and also if you want, you can return the movies to any blockbuster store and get the next ones on your list right then and there. it was the best of both worlds.

I say all this in the past tense because although we liked it, nobody in my family is a huge movie buff so we didn't really need that many movies that quickly, but for you, it'd be perfect.

I use Netflix and I find it fantastic. I usualy get movies the next day after sending one back as there is a distribution facility in my city. I also stream movie's on my brothers Xbox 360 and the quality is great.

I've used both before they both have there advantages and disadvantages.

I personally like Netflex more then red box. The only reason why I would get red box over netflex is if you watch less then 9 movies a month or don't have the patients to wait a day or two for DVDs in the mail.

Otherwise Netflex is the better deal to go with. The only thing I don't like about Netflex is the fact they have a very poor selection of live streaming movies compared to the ones you can get in the mail from them.

Everybody has pretty much covered the benefits of both.

I had Netflix for a long time and I personally thought it was totally worth it as I watched a lot of movies and TV shows back in college. However, now that I'm in law school, I no longer have the luxury of time, and so I canceled my Netflix account. I used a Redbox kiosk last week to rent a movie for free using a coupon I found online. If you're the type of person who watches a lot of movies regularly or want to get some TV shows, then Netflix is the way to go. However, if you're more the type who rents movies occasionally, then Redbox is the better choice, especially since you can get movies for free with online coupons.

I had a blockbuster online account for a couple years with a 2 out at a time plan, unlimited in-store exchanges, plus one free in-store movie coupon per month. Movies shipped quickly, and for the most part I enjoyed it. Towards the end I'd seen all the in-store movies I wanted to see, and some of the tv series dvds in my online queue were marked "very long wait" (read "don't expect to get it for several months, if ever"), so I decided to try out Netflix. I think Netflix has better title availability, and the shipping time is even faster than blockbuster. As stated above, the instant view selection is somewhat limited, but I can still find something if there's nothing else on tv. For my viewing habits, Netflix is definitely worth it.

As for Redbox, I've never used it so I can't say one way or the other.
