OverclockTheStock Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Hey guys. Im putting together a new build. 4850x2 = ORDERED E2200 2.4Ghz = ORDERED Asus Maximus Formula= Had on hand Antec 300 = Had on hand Phase Unit= Had on hand PSU=Had on hand I decided to go with the E2200 instead of the E5200 because the E5200 highly tends to max out at 4.0Ghz. Seeing how this is going to be a phase build, I will be able to pump the volts way up there. Im looking to get a 4.5 Ghz 24/7 oc, and hit 5-6Ghz on suicide runs. I went with the 4850x2 because its 4870x2 performance(when overclocked) but for like 200 bucks less. Plus I wanted to try a new card . Pics coming soon

IVIYTH0S Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Will do but why even a e5200, isn't phase cooling expensive, why those potentially a 5200, and definitely an e2200. Why not go e8xxx? even if the e2200 get's high clocks it's older so it's raw clock still might beat a newer decently clocked dual. OverclockTheStock Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) Because there are to many benches out there with high end processors. Its time to let the old shine. And phase cooling isn't expensive if you build them. Edited March 26, 2009 by OverclockTheStock

IVIYTH0S Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Unfortunately you have a board already otherwise the Phenom II would have been the way to go. Good luck though
