mmogamr Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I'm still working on building my new rig, I am trying to figure out which power supply to get. I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817139009 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...003&Tpk=ocz those 2 are of course nice brands, but I also found http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817176001 which if I combo with the hdd I saw, I'd save 30 bucks over the other 2 What do you guys think? Not sure how great of a brand SevenTeam is, so any input would be great. thanks
Verran Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Never heard of SevenTeam. OCZ and Corsair are great. What's in your system? There's a good chance 850W is overkill for you.
Great_Gig Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I have 2 Corsairs and an Enermax - the Corsairs are fantastic and I'm pleased with them - good build quality, very power efficient, silent running and have a 5 year warranty. Also as Verran states, what are you running, as 850W is most likely more power than you need. (never heard of SevenTeam either)
OverclockTheStock Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 the corsair is the best one. Cheapest price and best brand
mmogamr Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 gonna be running a gigabyte x58 with core i7 920, 2 evga gtx 285s... I wanna have some room for upgrade. Think 850 might be overkill?
crazy8s846 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) seventeam makes good powersupplies, you have never heard of them, but they might have built one of your powersupplies for a differant company. If you want to know how good a powersupply is it is probably on jonnyguru.com review site. If it is a good one he has probably done a review. Seventeam is on of the better powersupplies from what ive read on some of them. Me i got a silverstone da1000w just because of the single 80a rail. silverstone also make smaller powersupplys with single rails. Idput 20 more dollars with it and get this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817256021 or this if you can affrod it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817256035 Edited March 26, 2009 by crazy8s846

I dont think 1000w is overkill but that is up to you really. If you are going to do an i7, id read some reviews, and get a good power supply, ive read were some powersupplies would not work with i7.
