MrAlex Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) The 50nm Samsung chips are at 7GHz for GDDR5! assuming ATi uses them http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/memory/displa...DR5_Memory.html So, maybe The 5850 will still use GDDR3; Edited March 22, 2009 by MrAlex

IVIYTH0S Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I wonder what nVIDIA will respond with;GTX 385? they'll have too, this will dominate the current gen cards.
DLS2008 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Any expected release dates? Those cards will be sick when they release. They will destroy the current market.
Waco Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Assuming those numbers are true...holy . that's a monstrous amount of memory bandwidth and GPU power.
suburban36 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I hope they have better drivers than past versions with the first release software. What good is a faster card with out better driver support?
supergeek101 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 If this is true, holy nuggets NVIDIA is cooked. NVIDIA simply took one core and simply disabled sections of it for the lower end of the GTX 200 series. Considering ATI actually designs new cores for newer cards... Now, consider 2-3 of these cards in Crossfire...
MrAlex Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Ha ha, Crysis at 150FPS. I'd say Q4 2009/Q1 2010. Let us just hope CPUs don't bottleneck these babies. Catalyst 10 anyone?
