Fanatic Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I have been messing around trying to get my rig to display movies correctly. For the most part it does well on the small screen's on HULU and MSN, but as soon as I go full screen the video blurs. The edges are not crisp and sometimes they appear pixalated depending on the video of course. If there is movement in the video it is ten times worse. Here is an example of small screen at 480i; http://forums.overclockersclub.com/style_i.../attach_add.png Here is an example of large screen at 480i http://forums.overclockersclub.com/style_i.../attach_add.png I find it hard to believe that my EVGA 8800 GTS and Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW can not handle the video. This rig plays games all out with full on eye candy without an issue. Where do I need to go or what do I need to do to correct this issue? Turophiliac Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Here is an example of large screen at 480i I think that is all that's happening. the low (they call it "Hi -Res") resolution videos on HULU aren't good enough quality to display beautifully on your 1680x1050 resolution monitor. 94Camaro Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) I think that is all that's happening. the low (they call it "Hi -Res") resolution videos on HULU aren't good enough quality to display beautifully on your 1680x1050 resolution monitor. You're playing a video that is 480 pixels high on a monitor that is 1050 pixels. There is a good bit of "stretching" going on there. Sit farther back from your monitor and it will look a little better. Not sharper, but the pixelation won't be as evident. Fanatic Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) I wonder than at what point internet video will catch up with computer hardware? And if I am having this issue on a 1680x1050 how do you use hulu to watch TV on a big screen such as a media center setup? Seems to me it would be even worse yet. battery Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 you mean at what point will high bandwidth would be so common that people stream 1080p without a problem? the technology is already there.
Turophiliac Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) the technology is already there. yeah, but it's not exactly commonplace. Edited March 22, 2009 by Turophiliac
