jesterofbob Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 i let a friend borrow a duron of mine a few days ago, and he just returned it with a bunch of thermal paste on almost 1/3 of the face of the processor (i'm talkin 1/4 inch outside the core), AND what looks like two different types of paste, just to add insult to injury. is there any particular method i should use to remove it? Eva_Unit_0 Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 Rubbing alcohol works very good for removing it. The ceramic material they made the duron/tbird out of it quite durable...I found that an eraser worked very good for cleaning off the ceramic part, also. (NOT the core. The core should just wipe off easily)

kobalt Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 The higher the alcohol volume in it the better. Get 99%
GTSticky Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 I've found coffee filters and alcohol works wonders to clean off components. The coffee filters are more lint-free than most cloths or paper towels.
