Modded a PS1 5 inch LCD screen to work with my PC. There's two or three ways you can do it. THere's the ultra hard pain in the . way, the sort of a pain in the . and the simple way. THe ultra hard need to have good soldering skills way uses the RGB signals and a bunch of delecate soldering but looks the best when you look at words. The sort of hard way consists of a bit of delecate soldering and looks ok, but you have to have a video card that has this kind of hook up, either compostie plug or a plug converter that looks like headphones plugs. The third way works but is not as clear as the other two, you can use a composite to s-video converter, if your video card has tv out in the form of s-video you can get this s-video to rca converter from Fry's Elecronics for 10 bucks or you can email me at [email protected] and I can get you one for 5 bucks US plus shipping, anyway, you plug the converter in to the s-video on the card then take your composite cable and hook it up to the screen, your image of the desk top will be hard to read words, but videos look sweet. so basically it up to you to decide how you want it hooked up. All three ways depend on some delecate soldering to make the screen work. It has a 7.5 volt plug in for a wall plug, BUT i have found that even with 7.5 volts connected to the screen from your power supply the scren won't turn on, the only voltage I was able to get it to turn on was at 12 volts. At 12 volts the back side of the screen gets warm, which for me is not really an issue since it's mounted in front of a 120mm intake fan on my case so it tends to stay very cold, also the screen case is removed from the LCD screen. Depending on what you want to do one of these options will work for you. One thing you will have to do is solder a power cord from the 12 volts in on the back of the LCD board to a set of wires hooked to the 12 volts on the molex connector.
