With the hundreds of available Linux and BSD distributions out there, it'd be impossible for me to list them all. Heck, even limited to the 'major' ones, I'd be cutting it close. ;)

I know there are a number of OCC members who use Linux as their primary OS and a greater number of people who dabble in it from time to time. Just curious as to what people are using these days and how they have it setup.

While I mainly dabble with Ubuntu these days, I'll always love Slackware. Though I've got to give Gentoo props, I learned more from compiling and recompiling that distro. :D

I haven't used any Linux since RedHat was still around. I don't have much use for it anymore.

Every once in a while I think about getting it installed and running again, and then I ask myself why. Invariably, I can't come up with a good reason.

Desktop: Ubuntu 8.04 Dual Boot. This is only because most of the student versions of software I need (Modelsim, Xilinx, OrCAD, etc.) only come in Windows. Would single boot otherwise.

Server: Ubuntu Server 8.10. It's easy to mange using SSH from anywhere.

VM: Two with Ubuntu 8.04.
