I love the game have 2 acounts ya it has it problems but they all do. as for lag im a steady 29 fps with a 9800 pro. Dont have any problems for my system i even have someone that plays it with below min specs and with everything turned off he plays decently without much lag unless its a heavily populated area

The game caps your framerate at 29. I believe there's a way to edit an .ini file to remove the cap but it's no big deal to me so I never tried. The Dev's explained back in beta why they had it capped, but I don't remember any specifics and will most likely explain it wrong lol.

The worst lag you may get is constant loading and reading from your harddrive unless you have a tons of ram. There's plenty of ways to reduce lag from a slow vid card, but the biggest lag I get is when I'm in big cities like Theed and the game has to load all the big buildings and I can hear my harddrive working it's butt off as I ride through town on my speeder. I fly through too fast my screen has to freeze for a few seconds to get everything rendered on screen, all the while the orange light on my HD is solid and it's cranking like hell.

I have 512mb of ram, but some people I know upgraded to 1GB and they say it helped wonders with the loading. The only way I could really help with my loading times and lag was make a bigger page file on my HD, but I also only have a 2mb cache on my HDD's so...I'd imagine an SATA 7200rpm with 8mb cache should have much better performance.

I was running the game with a GeForce 3, but got a 5900 for X-Mas :)

The 5900 really makes a big difference compared to my GF3. Inside a packed cantina my framerate would be in the teens, and that's with no AA or AF. Now I can go with 4xAA and 8xAF and usually have smooth gameplay. Although I usually keep it at 2xAA and 4xAF, the game looks great at those settings.

The only problem I have with lag is my lack of ram and my slow HD's. Now your system is faster than mine in nearly every way except vid card. Since you have a slower card, you may have to crank down details, particle effects...theres a bunch of options for terrain and graphics detail in-game so you can mess with it all to find a nice balance.

For your system, your bottleneck will be your vidcard, although it'll certainly be playable. You won't need 100fps like if this was UT2k3, I got by pretty well on my old GF3. I say go for it, you should do fine. You'll be the opposite of how my system runs. My comp is the bottleneck for my vid card, your vid card will be a bottleneck for the rest of your comp lol.

If you don't want all the bells and whistles turned on in the game, then you can certainly get away with an older card, that's what I had to do for a while now. I say give it a try, then if you don't have huge loading times, you can always spend cash on a vid card.

Oh yeah, btw, I run the game at 1280x960. I think the lowest is 1024x768 and up to 1600x1200.
