General Posted December 27, 2003 Posted December 27, 2003 Greetings All! I was thinking about painting my case, but i dont really know how. What kind of tools do i need to use and what color is good to use. Some replies would help me out alot because its a very ugly Beige right now. Nuclear Posted December 27, 2003 Posted December 27, 2003 Painting is completly up to you man. I've used all diff types and colors, and they all will have the same great result if done right. - Take and clean the case really well with soap and water. - Buy some fine grit sandpaper and give the case a quick sanding - Clean the case again with soap and water - Depending on the color, you may wanna apply a primer layer - Apply a thin layer of your base - Sand the first coat with some very fine grit sandpaper after dry - Apply a second layer, but thicker this time - Sand again with very find sandpaper - Apply a third and final layer of your color - Let it dry, sand it one last time, and apply a clear coat That's the steps I do. Alot of people don't sand in between layers, I paint cars and this is the same process I go thru. Don't worry if you mess up, you can always sand it and re-apply another coat or color. -

DevilMB3017 Posted December 27, 2003 Posted December 27, 2003 My case came out fine with this method... Wipe it down with a damp paper towel and dry it. Spray Krylon Automotive Primer on everything to be painted on the case, one side at a time. (Don't cheap out on primer) Sand it down, make sure its even. (Only a little) Then spray the color of your choice, one side at a time. Sand it down slightly and make sure its even again. Spray a second coat. Sand slightly again. Spray a protective clear coat over it.

FuZziELiTLpAnDa Posted December 27, 2003 Posted December 27, 2003 i painted the inside of my case black. all the materials needed cost under 10. i used flat black paint which cost a dollar a can, clear coat, and grey primer.
