So Where Is The 720?

I think the AMD Phenom II X3 720 was just released on Feb 9. So it's only been out about 2 days so it's not surprising it hasn't hit the shelves yet.

 

Usually CPU release dates are when they start selling the CPU's to online store's or retail store's so it might be a few more weeks before you actually see one for sale.

Does AM3 support DDR2? Are there any benefits to AM3 besides the DDR3 capabilities?

 

 

From what I've read on the Phenom II and AM3 platform, it doesn't look like it. But, considering the memory controller is on the processor, which supports both ddr2 and ddr3, I don't see why it's not possible to put ddr2 slots on and am3 board..

That's what i was thinking, but i don't see any in the works.
