Why not an X48?

noob question - why do some MOBO's have "Max LAN Speed Dual 10/100/1000Mbps"? is this for more ISP's connections or to connect more ethernets from one ISP for less bottlenecking?

 

anyways i looked at the X58's and they dont support LGA 775 (so that's a no go)

 

i've been looking at EVGA NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI ATX or ASUS Striker II Extreme NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra but i'm open to any suggestions.

 

 

Both are decent but the EVGA is less shall i say finicky. I have them both.

nothing really catches my eye with the X48's.

 

think i might be going with EVGA NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI ATX (FTW model) it's the same specs but without all the accessories (that i dont need). Actually FTW model comes with 3 more SATA 3Gb/s ports. (comparsion sheet)

 

 

i'm still gonna try to get a BIOS chip for the other MOBO (i'm building another rig soon) and i'll try to resurrect the board. (it was a decent MOBO, no doubt)
