Sandwich Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Sup guys, my Coolermaster cosmos has no fancy side windows or any of that bs, but I would like it to look nice when opened up. These are purley for asthetic value and do not have to serve any function. Anyone use and lights in their case? If so what brands? I also wanna get a fan controller/media card reader. Keep in mind that I have a front door on my case so, no knobs (I know, that eliminates some good ones). Thanks for all replies! psycho_terror Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 i use a bunch of cathodes in my pc, some sound reactive. i can't really recommend a brand, but i will say don't buy too cheap if you get CCFLs as i have had one almost set fire to my PC, and fixed a friends PC after one basically did catch fire and destroyed his PSU. The only reason i have leds in my fans and power source now is because of the window. If you don't have a window, I don't see a point. I'm getting a CM 590 with no window so my new fans hav no leds. ebarone Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I use a pair of sound reactive blue CCFL's, they are awesome when the music is pumping or the grenades are going off in COD I put a strip of black electrical tape on the edge of the cathode that faces away from the mobo too, so I can use those lights as lamps for when I have my face down inside the case. You'll like them if you get them. You could also try some UV reactive paint if you're really looking for some cool effects. psycho_terror Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 The wire almost always make a big mess. that depends entirely on your cable management. i have 5 12 inch cathodes in my PC, two of them can be seen directly from the window, and there are NO visible wires from either the lights or the inverters. I have 2, both with a lengthwise strip of electrical tape covering half the cathode and they flood my case with light.
