XxHellxRaizerxX Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 So I've read someone's post that successfully played Mirrors Edge on their HD 4870 with an old 8800GTS in their second PCIex16 taking care of Physx. My question is would buying a cheap 8400gs be sufficient enough to take care of Physx enabled games so the load isn't put on my CPU? I want to play Mirrors Edge with Physx but I've heard it pretty much turns into a slideshow at some points without an Nvidia gpu. Opinions? slick2500 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 From what I have read the 9600GSO makes an awesome Physx gpu.
Waco Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I have my doubts that anyone got Windows to play nice with two totally different display drivers at the same time. If it were possible pretty much any of them are more powerful than the original PhysX card.

slick2500 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Someone is bound to release some hacked drivers that allow you to use the gpu just for Physx. Come on someone hacked the drivers to allow SLI on the Intel 975 or whatever chipset. Its only a matter of time.

Yea actually I've just been reading up on some people who seem to be getting pretty close even with both Nvidia and AMD trying to hinder their progress.
