WReXSTi Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Do you guys think that this build is good enough for games and future games to come? I will be upgrading to 2 GTX+'s later on. Does anyone think that the 700 watt power supply is good enough for SLI 9800GTX+? Also the games I will be playing are Mirror's Edge, NBA2K9, Team Fortress 2, COD: WAW, and more games further to come. Also How much do you guys think that I will be able to overclock that Q8200 with that motherboard and an aftermarket cooler? (probably this 1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835118223 Also don't worry about the Hard drive and the CD/DVD drive. I have that covered. Also Which case should I buy? xvCluTchvX Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Yes that 700 watt PSU will be good for SLI. But overall it's a nice comp and that cooler should be good for overclocking but not on that motherboard. Try not to go too high. Overclock so the CPU Temp will be at most 40C on idle. I would suggest 2.8 but thats just me. Edited January 31, 2009 by xvCluTchvX
IVIYTH0S Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 why not get a p45 chipset board and crossfire? a 4850 is better than the 9800gtx+, it's also cheaper. not to mention the p45 boards are way better than any 750i. (not to mention cheaper) also with the money saved you can get a better quad (q6600)
Coors Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 What resolution do you run? Persoanlly I'd get a P45 board and just run a single card.
alexvision Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 or you could get a E8400 and get better performance in most games at the moment, if its just for gaming and wait till quad core is used in most games.

I am also getting the Q8200 with the 750i SLI mobo for 250. Once again brand new. I will have to decrease my video if I want to do q6600 with an sli p45 mobo. What resolution do you run? Persoanlly I'd get a P45 board and just run a single card. I will be getting a new monitor later on. Maybe a 24 inch. or you could get a E8400 and get better performance in most games at the moment, if its just for gaming and wait till quad core is used in most games. WReXSTi Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Can I sli or crossfire with any motherboard with 2 pci express slots? Sorry for the double post. Edited January 31, 2009 by WReXSTi
IVIYTH0S Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 It's alright but I recommend getting a p45 board (new) which is cheaper than a 750i (new) and will OC way better. For the processors a Q6600 will probably perform better than that Q8200 and it's not much more expensive. The 4850 is cheaper than the 9800gtx+ and better at high resolutions. depending on what games you play you may not even need two of them to play games maxed out at 24" resolutions. as for the boards capabilities p45=crossfire only 750i=SLI only
WReXSTi Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Can anyone help me make a computer around 650? It needs to have intel quad core processor, 4gb ram, a good ventilation case (mid tower) SLI/Crossfire ready with everything sli/crossfire ready(mobo, Video card, power supply, case?). P45 or 750i. It has to be 650 shipped or 630 without shipping included. If anyone could do this it would be highly appreciated.

BKen Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If you decide to go with the first build you linked, beware: Newegg often puts the wrong photos on product pages. That is indeed a 9800GTX, and not a 9800GTX+.
