Chikenfingy Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Ight guys i have a Dell Dimension E521. It has a AMD Athlon 64 3200+Socket AM2 (940) running right now at 2.0. I have a AMD Athlon 2.6 on the way but its not coming for a while, so i was wondering if there is anyway to overclock this ^ one without buying anything, basically somthing for free or just messing within the BIOS. My motherboard is Dell Inc. Model # 0UW457. The chipset is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 and the southbridge is a NVIDIA 410/430 MCP. Really wanna get this faster until the other one comes in cause i wanna play a couple of games that my comp just cant take. Maybe it is my graphics card but i dont see how it could hurt to tweak the clock speed a little. Also even if i break the processor, i have the 2.6 coming so just let me know somthin guys!!! THANKS!!!!!! :thumbs-up:
tkrow21 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I don't think there are any overclocking options in Dell Dimensions.
NoNothing Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 You could overclock it if you can get your hands on a good (See also: NOT DELL) motherboard.
Verran Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Most likely that motherboard does not have the options needed to overclock. You would probably need to buy a new board to proceed.
