Waco Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 You can only install one driver or the other, Windows does not allow two display drivers to be active at the same time.
panjang110 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 so basically my 9800GT is going to be my brand new paper weight? does ageia has driver that uses nvidia GPU as physx accelerator? ( usually i enable physx acceleration via nvidia control panel ) instead of physx card
panjang110 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 hmm.. but then again if i want the ageia driver to use the GPU i will still need to install the forceware helppppp guys, this isn't going anywhere
Lavell Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) The answer to your original question is no. Since you have an ATI-based motherboard with an ATI video card, you will need a dedicated PhysX card. I have this card but mine is the PCIe x1 version: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=19&am...amp;modelmenu=1 Once you get the card (if you can find it), you will have to install the latest drivers. You can get them here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_9.09.0010_whql.html Edited January 23, 2009 by Lavell
AMG Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I would like a physics card, but I can't find one anymore :| and I don't think it will fit as i have two HD4870s >_>
Praz Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 The nVidia PhysX driver can be installed by itself along with ATI drivers. But that won't help. As soon as the nVidia driver see an ATI video card PhysX support for the nVidia graphics card will be disabled.
Kuronin Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Does physx actually increase performance, or just add a a cheap gimmick that only works on a handful of games?

Kuronin Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Can I get an serious answer?
IVIYTH0S Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 that was my serious answer. It *may* make a difference in the future but other than me HAVING to have it since I have an nvidia card. I wouldn't focus on Physx in your choice to upgrade
