O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 DOS is the recommended environment to use for BIOS updates. What is your reason for performing a BIOS update? Did you upgrade to a new CPU and it is not being recognized properly? In most cases, BIOS updates are not necessary.

Kash Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 You can use a flash drive if your motherboard supports it. Usually a good indicator is if your board allows you to boot from a flash drive. If so, then it should also allow you to flash the BIOS from a file located in the root directory of the flash drive (i.e. don't put it in a folder). O(V)eGA_l2el) makes a good point. If your system is running fine, then there's no need for a BIOS update.
