InvaderTrax Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 Alright, I plan on setting up an old PII as a folding only PC, but first I want to find out a little info about the motherboard I got. It's an Intel SE440BX-2 (Seattle) board. Ever heard of it? Any possibilities of OCing? http://support.tangent.com/hardware/motherboard/se440bx.htm
Will Smith Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 I have dealt with those. They are Intel-Branded boards so no. They suck. Your better of trying to get an Asus p2 board to try.
InvaderTrax Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 Yeah, but the only money I want to put into this thing is $30 for the case. I've already got a spare HD, CD, PSU, cables, etc. According to Taz, this will be faster than his 500MHz Celeron
bigred Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 those boards wouldn't even let you oc a flipchip socket 370 processor with the right slocket. the only thing you "could" do is to cover pin B21 on the slot 1 cpu and HOPE if it's a 66mhz fsb cpu that it is capable of running at 100mhz fsb. If not there's nothing you can do
InvaderTrax Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 No, I'm using a 450MHz PII which already has a 100MHz FSB. I was mostly just curious. I talked with Taz and he gave me a general idea of what I can expect
