Andrewr05 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I've got various WS movies ranging from 480x208 to 720 x 304 and they seem to scale rather well to 1600 x 900. (or at least non-cropped fullscreenizationing)

ocmooz Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hey Andrew! Nice mem my bro just bought some from the Egg and it helped him out a bunch. If you decide to unload that case I have a couple recommendations on a replacement. Cooler Master RC-631-KWN1 (What my Pops bought me for christmas) Cooler Master RC-534-KKN2-GP (What I built Grandma's new comp in) Hope this all works out for you and you get to play some real games. +1 for Orange box and Fallout 3 BTW :thumbs-up:

Andrewr05 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Yea, one thing that I honestly didn't consider is the native resolution. 1600x900 for this monitor...
Andrewr05 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I should hopefully have all of my stuff next week. What I have so far: Antec P182 Gigabyte Geforce 8800GT P4 2.8Ghz 4GB G. Skill DDR2 800 Antec Earthwatts 500W 60GB HD (should hold me off for a bit) 20" Widescreen Acer LCD What I'm waiting on: Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 from The Smith Xigmatek HDT-S1283 from Newegg Total build came to ~$480, I'm looking at maybe another $150-$180 for a C2D sometime down the road. Over all I think it turned out pretty good... EDIT: *sigh* I always forget something... I should have ordered a tube of AS5 earlier all I've got here is a tube from 05 and I think its gone bad... (redid my laptop heatsink at one point and it didn't look right) Newegg here I come...

Andrewr05 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Thanks a lot, its gone pretty smoothly so far... I'm not ashamed to admit that it took me almost 4 hours to finish the whole build. I took my time with everything! I booted to 3Ghz into the bios just for crap and giggles (that is of course not even windows stable as of yet), but for now its at the stock 2,8Ghz until everything gets installed and backed up... etc... etc... Andrewr05 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Those wires took me most of the build time to "hide", I had to literally FORCE the right side panel on... Oh and if the bios is correct I idle at 28C @ around 19C, thar be a 9C increase...
