QuantumX Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Thanx guys for all the recommendations. I am thinking to go with the HD4870 512mb. It falls well in the price range of what I can afford. And because I have a P5Q Deluxe mobo I will rather go with ATI because it only supports Crossfire. So if I decide to get a larger monitor I can consider Crossfire with a HD4850 or so. tkrow21 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) Overkill? Can you really have too much performance? When you won't notice a difference and your wallet will, yes. get the 1gb!! my old 4870 512mb could not handle any AA, it hurt frames so much He's on a lower resolution though. You're on 1920x1200. My HD4850 can get ~80fps in L4D with 4xAA 8xAF all settings maxed. Edited January 2, 2009 by Krow

My old 22" monitor was starting to show the lack of memory's faults but lower resolution shouldn't tax the memory as much
