Neoprene Tubing

Recommended Posts

Have any of you tried tygons neoprene tubing? Did condensation build up on it? I've been scouring the internet for information a few hours now, and have yet to find anything about it. Any information you can provide about the insulative properties of neoprene tubing will be greatly appreciated.

I have used a lot of neoprene insulation, but not the tygon tubing so I cannot personally say how it does. However it is neoprene so I am sure it works just fine. :)

Most all tubing is going to 'sweat' at those temps, since the wall thickness cannot provide enough insulation and linear temperature delta to prevent condensation without being excessively thick.

However norprene tubing is fairly good in this regard, and I have used it down to -10C water temp without any condensation issues. At your temps I am unsure how it will react.

Norprene has the added benefit that it reduces evaporation exponentially. I have not had to top off my loop in over a year since switching to norprene, something I was doing every 3 months or so with typical Tygon 3603.
