Scott P Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 I'm putting together a home office for the woman for Christmas. Since money is tight, I'm trying to build/rebuild a small personal computer out of parts I have around and a few new ones. She'll have her Dell laptop and docking station if she chooses to work from home. So, this computer is basically for Microsoft Office, Quicken, Interweb and iTunes. I have an Athlon XP3700+ sitting here along with an ECS micro-ATX motherboard. I figure the on-board video will be sufficient for the 19" LCD monitor I plan on buying for her. I'm hoping to be able to find a small case to assemble this computer with. I just don't know if the PSU's these small cases come with would be sufficient for the Athlon 3700+. Does anyone have a good small case they could recommend? A small tower would be better than a desktop/HTPC case since it would leave more desk space free. Scott P Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I bailed on the small case idea when I hit Fry's. They had the Antec Solo for $50. It's about a half inch too tall for the desk I want, but I think I could modify something to get it to fit.
ccokeman Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I have an Antec NSK3480 that includes a 350 watt PSU. It was used for about a week and now resides in the original packaging. Look at the specs and see if it would work for you, It has a single 120mm fan and god airflow plus its quiet. $30 plus shipping if you want it.
