TheChad Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 I have an MSI KT600 board (FSB 200/266/333/400MHz) and the Athlon XP 2400+ Thoroughbred CPU (266FSB) with Kingston 512MB (PC2700-333) memory. My Windows 2000 system info shows the CPU as an Athlon 1800+ running at 1.6GHz and the default BIOS is running at 100FSB. I can only raise the BIOS FSB to 110 before things start hanging up. The MSI Core Center software auto set-up will put it as high as 110. As far as I can tell, there are no jumper to set and everything has to be done in the BIOS. Any suggestions on BIOS settings or know some multipliers to use? Thanks.
Hades25 Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 there may be a jumper on the board to unlock the
Bosco Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 there may be a jumper on the board to unlock the 166 Set the jumper or FSB to 133 not 166. Its prob just a switch or something on the board somewhere check your manual
TheChad Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 The manual shows no jumpers to remove. I think I will just have to play around with settings, although, I've never had problems with Windows recognizing the correct processor before. Always a first time though.
