WhenKittensATK Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 (edited) Depends on what you are using your computer for. I mean your not doing crazy stuff like Photoshopping, encoding, or real commercial work upgrading to i7 wouldn't show much or any improvements. HITandRUN Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 You got a great rig there unless you planning to do beching stay where you are.
My_Inner_Fred Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I'd stay with the quad. I7 wont give u a big increase in performance wit gaming. Its better for heavy multitasking..

Yeah and what are you going to do for cooling. You will have to buy a new waterblock cause there currently is no Dtek FuZion LGA1366 mount out yet, and probably not for the next month or two. Swiftech has been the only one yet who released an LGA1366 mount out for their Apogee GTZ block.
RA1D Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 (edited) I've got the GTZ with the 1366 mount and its very nice. Installation is very easy. I'm also waiting on the Fuzion mount though. WhenKittensATK Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 (edited) Throw on an old Air Heatsink until they come out with new bracket or grab a new block, your choice. 775 on 1366 EDIT: That's if you already had an i7 which you don't and an upgrade to i7 from your current rig won't increase much. rud3bwoy Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 well i have 1100 to do the upgrade,i already have everything else so i was thinking rampage 2 extreme corsair tri channel and the 300 dollar i920 might switch the block to the swiftech or wait a few for the dtek v2
road-runner Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Yea I just ordered a 1366 TRUE bracket for now until I see what Dtek comes out with. Petras has them in stock $9. http://www.petrastechshop.com/thlgbo1.html
