maj0rgamer Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 (edited) if you check out some of the securom related game reviews on amazon.com you should be able to discern about as much info as i have. I don't know much as i have little experience with it, but that's where i started to learn and worry about the dreaded digital rights management software called securom, as i like to read up on reviews before purchasing most things. If you look up games such as spore and crysis warhead you should get a head full with the raving negative reviews on the subject. after seeing that list and not having any problems, i guess i'm done worrying about it though. Waco Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 If I realize a game has SecuROM I will buy the game and pirate a copy to actually play. The pirated copies usually run far better than the retail versions. <_<
ir_cow Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 im with Thewacokid on this, i have games untouched because i just needed the cdkey. people should realize pirating isn't going to stop or slow down so why make it harder for people are willing to pay. i can see single play only games have heavy protection but it gets cracked so really the only thing that gets me to buy a game is for the online. Archerzz Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 with securom if you change hardware you have to reregister using up one of the limited number you have. All you do is call and read your key and they add more on, so i dont see the point its kind of a pain in the a$$
Kamikaze_Badger Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Honestly I don't see why stuff like Steam isn't used more often.

Crow47 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 BioShock over Steam has SecuROM as well. What the crap is the point of securom over steam??? The beauty of something like Steam is that you DON'T have to resort to draconian drm schemes.
WhenKittensATK Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 (edited) http://kotaku.com/5051514/steam-drm-vs-spore-drm Steam has its own DRM. They say they are against it, but they still use it to get company to allow purchases through steam of their games.
