the best air cooling option i find for the 9800's is the zalman. First off you don't have to worry about a fan crappin out on you and jeopardizing the cooling of the gpu. and you have the option to also add the zalman fan to provide even better cooling. Now as far as the ramsinks go the tweakmoster ramsinks wont work with the zalman. You need to get generic memory heatsinks that have a low profile. so tht they can fit under it. Like i posted before my 9800 pro is at 400 mhz mem and core with the zalman w/ low profile ramsinks and that is without the additional fan added on to it. So by far i find that to be the better option for air cooling a 9800. Now water cooling would be better on the gpu and the memory if you find someone that can make a custom memory block for you. I have seen it done and it work very nicely although the price is more expensive.

speaking of the zalman i just orderd one on line and i also need to find some low profile mem heat sinks.my card isnt overclocked so i wont really be able to let u know how it cools, but i will try to see what temp it keeps my non over clocked 9800 pro at.providing i can find a program to mesure vid card temps without buying acual hard ware.

I have used both the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer and the Vantec Iceberq 4 on my radeon 9800 non-pro and both work fine. I favor the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer as there is more surface area for the heat to disapate. I know SVC has the VGA Silencer for $21.99 right now.

As for memory cooling, I use OCZ BGA Ramsinks. They are not too tall in height and they do a decent job in cooling. They come in either aluminum or copper versions. They use thermal tape to attach to the ram so you dont have to deal with thermal epoxy.
