QMax Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 (edited) I find any gaming I do will make use of cores 2,3,4 or 3 and 4. It really helps to split up the load, allowing for faster processing of other programs. Most games will sometimes push the load on 2,3,4 up to 50% and core 1 is running around 25%. To me this is an advantage of the quad-core. Btw I have a Q6600 which I need to overclock soon To respond to the above posts: True, windows balances the load. If it is a single core game it does not specifically use core 0 or 1. Edited December 5, 2008 by QMax

wiewior1984 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Hi, I agree to that most games use 2 cores at most. But I am not quite sure if windows XP handles multicore tasking that well I don't have a quad core myself to test best regards, wiewior1984
