Crow47 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I'm getting a quad pretty soon, and I was wondering if there were any games yet that can take advantage of four cores. I know there are plenty that use two, but what about four? Does Far Cry 2 support quad core?

WhenKittensATK Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Also Supreme Commander if your into RTS on a really really big scale. I was never big into RTS, but I did enjoy the campaign modes for Red Alert, Starcraft series, Warcraft series, and Total War series. Crow47 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 And I love Supreme Commander, lol. Wow, looks like I made the right choice! Somewhere I heard that Crysis only used one core. Guess that's wrong. But what about Far Cry 2?
swifty11212 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 most games should support quad core, if not then dual core. but either way i think with what you mainly play, quad is the way to go.
fire_storm Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I believe far cry 2 has multicore support I've heard it supports up to 8 cores.
My_Inner_Fred Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 most games should support quad core, if not then dual core. but either way i think with what you mainly play, quad is the way to go. not most games a few. games, more games support dual core than quad. and duo is said to be better than quads at gaming. ClayMeow Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Most games that support dual, support quad, but I believe you're asking the wrong question here. The real question you probably want to know is what performs better in the games you want to play, as that indicates how well the developer optimized their multi-threading. Waco Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Crysis doesn't scale for . on a quad. Supreme Commander (when running Core Maximizer) runs GREAT on a quad though.
ocmooz Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 World of Warcraft, which is also the only game that has quad SLI support. jk roflmfao
