Rodneyho Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 (edited) I just buy the wife a Dell as she has so much multimedia stuff (i mean crap) that she likes the look, multimedia bonuses, and combos they offer. She actually uses that stuff. (photo/video editing, embroidery design, managing her E-bay sales...etc. No way around it I can build myself machines all I want and no matter what case I show her she always likes/wants the shiny new Dell stuff. That being said, looking at the current line up, I am stuck making a choice. Budget is 1500. Needs Laser Jet Printer, D-Link DGL 4300 router. The new Studio XPS has the I7 single Video Card 6gigs of ram (tri channel 6x1gb) DVD RW Or I could go E8500 and get her SLI 4GB ram Blu-RAY (rom dvd rw) There are pros and cons obviously but I am stuck. She does play EQII about 5-6 hours a week and is getting annoyed with not being able to push the graphics anymore on her old system. What are your thoughts.... I even considering getting teh I7 deal and tossing two 9600 Super clocked in SLI after market in it. Just ideas. Oh she has a 24" UltraSharp Dell monitor already Edited November 29, 2008 by Rodneyho
Rodneyho Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 After reading some reviews might stay away from the 9600GTs
Jenova69 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 My girlfriends comp has one 9600gt and it runs most games on High (with minimal AA and AF) at 1680x1050
