Anthz Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Right, first off im anth. Im new to these forums and also from the UK so alot is different (including a high price difference). I am considering this rig, 90% for gaming and the other 10% for other stuff (including video rendering). I would appriciate it alot if you could assess it, give me some advice or what ever MOBO - Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz Case - USING OLD CASE Memory - Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Graphics Card - USING EXISTING 8800GT (prehaps upgrade) Hard Drive - EITHER USE MY EXISTING 500GB DRIVE OR - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB SATA-II 32MB Cache Drives - USING EXISTING LIGHTSCRIBE Cooling - UNSURE Power Supply - OCZ StealthXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply Price Including VAT - Edited November 27, 2008 by Anthz
Jenova69 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Get a newer motherboard like the Gigabyte p45 UD3R. I don't think i've ever heard anything good about that board anyway.

AMG Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 hmm I wouldn't trust that powersupply althrough OCZ is trsut worthy I would go with be quiet, corsair, seasonic, pc power and cooling, abs/tagan(rare but in reviews they perfoermed amzingly well) all the rest are avergae, a 700watt from any of these won't set you back too much ethoir
Krieg1337 Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) I would go with the PC Power and Cooling 750 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=CA-001-PP, or if you can't afford that one get the 610 version http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=CA-002-PP For the motherboard I would go with the Asus P5Q Pro http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=MB-280-AS, very good motherboard, has gotten a lot of good reviews. For the Hard Drive, I would get this one, I was told it was as fast or even faster then the raptor(Not the VelocityRaptor) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=HD-053-SA Edited November 30, 2008 by Darkfuneral1337
