NCC10281982B Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 OK I'm trying to get a second GPU client running. I've got a second F@H dir created. It contains a new install of Version 6.20r1. I have the machine ID and -gpu flags set correctly. When i try to launch the second client I get this: The odd thing is I currently have the client running on my other card. No problems. I checked the device manager and both cards are running Nvidia drivers. GPUz shot below. Ideas?
hardnrg Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 do you have the second card connected to a monitor?
NCC10281982B Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 no. If I read the FAQ right it does not care. I've checked 'extend my desktop onto this monitor, but those boxes wont stay checked.
kingdingeling Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 You don't need to have a monitor connected to it, I run dual 8800GTs with dual clients. What I have set up right now is the following: Regular F@H client: -forceasm GPU F@H #1: -gpu0 GPU F@H #2: -gpu1 -forcegpu nvidia_g92

NCC10281982B Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I don't thinknits working. on top of this my client.cfg keeps getting overwritten. (no username, machine ID set to 1). What the heck?
kingdingeling Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 That really is weird, mine works perfectly fine with those flags. Have you got a spare monitor to test it with a monitor attached? I heard some guys say that it only works with a monitor attached / dummy monitor plug on the card.
NCC10281982B Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 hmm, I'll move my other lcd and get back to yo., Edit: OK I've got both clients running. But two strange things have come up. 1. My username and team for client 1 are not in the client output. I know its in the client.cfg (I made that file read only) 2. I'm not sure if the clients are running on the right GPUs. Is there a way to check? The second one hung on 'starting gpu server' for a moment. The fans are going nuts and I feel like i'm sitting on a heater. kingdingeling Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Dunno bout them 9800GTXs, but my 8800GTs stay quite cool, that might be the Acceleros doing though I added the -gpu 0 and -gpu 1 flags to make sure they're running on different GPUs, but I dunno which client is which GPU either
