MadMan Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 I now have a ATI 9800 PRO and I am looking to overclock it to at least the speeds on a XT. The memory on the card is the Samsung memory chips. They read: Samsung 328 K4D263238E-GC2A I am wondering what kinda ram sinks to get for the best performance when I oveerclock this. I have the TweakMonsters on my 9800XT w/ my Maze4 and I love them. Very high quality and finish and a affordable price. Eva_Unit_0 Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Nuclear, I just ordered a maze 4 gpu block for my 9700pro a few days ago...do you like yours? I read good reviews about it, but wanted to hear someone's opinion first hand.

I read good reviews about it, but wanted to hear someone's opinion first hand. Yeah, I love it. I had a hard time deciding between the Maze4 or Swifty block. I'm very happy I went with the Maze4. It was very easy to install and works flawlessly. It allowed me to stretch a good bit more out of my 9800XT too BTW: I hope you ordered the TweakMonster Ramsinks for the 9700. I had to remove my stock ones in order to install the block. I think you may have to do the same, but I'm not sure.

lilkev715 Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 I use these ramsinks made by OCZ. They also come in the copper variety as well. I would recommend getting a better GPU cooler as the stock one is a piece of crap.

Paranoid Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 The Zalman VGA cooler performs better, especially if you get the optional fan.
TypicalSloan Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 Heatpipes dont work all that great unless u use a fan in conjunction with them.

Actually the Zalman isn't affected too much by the fan option. I had one on my 9800Pro, and the little bit I picked up in OC with the fan wasn't anything to brag about.
