Oh No! It's Happening Again :(

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

My computer is getting bad reboots again.

I start it, it doesn't recognize anything plugged in to it.

Screen stays blank.

I think the other memory stick is breaking :(

if you don't wanna run memtest86 on that pc, then what i think you should do is get the windows disc (assuming your running windows) and boot with it. Instead of clicking on install, click on repair something or another and try to restore your system to an earlier date. You may have a nasty virus.

are you using norton or some other security software?

here's a link to download memtest 86...it's really easy to burn a disc and run the program. If you have any questions just ask :)

if you wanna run memtest86 to check for memory errors, make sure you download the right version for your operating system. I really think you should do this to rule out any memory errors (you should put both sticks in if you wanna do this), and it does take time to run the program (after burning the disc, just put it in and restart the pc (it's bootable...assuming you have a disc drive set as the first boot priority your pc should boot into the program instead of windows...if not you will need to go into the bios and set a disc drive to be first in your boot priority...if you have any questions, just ask) :)

Dude I would do that but ive had enough with that computer, its made me very angry a lot of times and its not worth my time to deal with it.

With my new computer I will be much more careful with what I download.

And on that computer (HP) I got a virus on like 6 months ago and reinstalled windows, the virus was a virus that would download illegal porn(what the heck?!!??!?!) I got it from trying to download a starcraft drop-hack, yes I am stupid, I will be more careful in the future.

But I dont know if that is the reason why because I reinstalled windows twice after that virus.

One method I always used that seemed pretty efficent at getting rid of viruses and trojans is use a little program called autoruns to find out where the source of the problem is. Antivirus sometimes just delete the exe, but on next reboot BAM virus is back. You just scroll down through all the dll's that startup when your computer does and look for ones that are not registered to Microsoft or related to another program you installed and then use something like BartPe to boot into live windows and just delete them. Works like a charm.

personally i find Mcafee to be very useful at sorting out viruses, it also tells you which sites you can trust when you search on google or ask
