Mate, there's problems with running dual 4870X2 because it's hard enough to synchronize the four cores after each other, but SIX video card cores? No mate, that doesn't work!

No that would not work either. The Asus Rampage is an X48 motherboard and is not SLI ready.

Dual 4870x2 = horrible scaling in games, and only befinical in resolutions *above* 1920X1200

3 way SLI = Microstutter

Throwing money at it won't help.

 

A single 4870X2 / regular SLI setup has trouble scaling for many things, putting more cards in the mix just makes things worse.
