So.. what does the UD100 do?

It's a very simple but high quality USB DAC.

 

It'll provide high end sound from nearly anything that can provide it a digital audio signal over USB. The specs of the imbedded DAC (digital to analog) converter are fantastic and the whole thing has been made into an absolutely tiny size.

 

Going to see if I can't get it working with my phone and then will see about getting myself a portable headphone amp but then again my AF56m in ear canal headphones don't require much juice an may be fine with the unamoed signal we shall see.

AMD FirePro v4900 for $105 shipped.

 

The FirePro W8000 would have been a better choice, but not everyone has that kind of budget.
