Ghost2520 Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 58 is pretty hot... are you on water cooling? If not you should be if your going to OC that high.
LobbDogg Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Yeah those temps are very high for a p4. I've got a 3.0c on watercooling and it runs about avg of 24 degrees idle, and 30 load.
AYoKoNA Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 58 is pretty hot... are you on water cooling? If not you should be if your going to OC that high. Are you crazy!? Will has a P4 2.4C @ 3.6 with a 300 FSB....ON AIR!!!! 28C on load (during WINTER) What are you running on stock cooling? I would definately get a thermalright sp-
airman Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 one of my friends is running a 2.4c chip on an aero7+ at 3.5 to 3.7...and it typically runs around 32 celcius load. and p4 chip with a 'C' at the end is all the same chip, with just different multipliers. sooo...don't waste you money on buying a 3.2C chip... edit: not sure about the 'B' chips
robbie Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Take your side cover off, if your temps drop work on your case ventilation. Rob
Nuclear Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 You've definitely got problems. A [email protected] isn't being stressed at all. A decent 2.4 will see 3.0-3.2 without any vcore changes. You should be running at least in the low 40s, not high 50s. What is your current cooling setup? (CPU, Case, etc...) You need to get some better cooling so you can jack the FSB to 290-300 at least. exeter_acres Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Yes it is warm (still within spec , yada, yada) But where in the heck is the ambient temp 32c??? Open a window, turn on the air, or move to the Northern Hemisphere!!
