Mother Board Trouble

Recommended Posts

hello all,

I'm having a bit of a problem, I'm pretty sure my mobo's the culprit.

When i boot up its gets to the windows loading screen just stays there. I screwed around with it for while and when I took out the cables out of the USB headers on the motherboard everything worked alright, kinda limped along. Until last night when a friend put my comp on standby, when I tried to log on a little bit later my comp froze up, and now the problems back, the windows loading screen just stays there. I haven't replaced the MB yet because I need it for school papers and a lack of funds. Any other ideas of what this could be? thanks for the help.

It could be a HD problem.

If you have back ups of your data try reformating it and doing a clean reinstall.

If not try repairing windows.

it could also be that the Proc fan is not spinning or that your PSU is dying.

IF you really think it is a MOBO problem you should take everything out leave only the proc heatsink and one stick of RAM in the board and turn it on. If it turns on and starts beeping the MOBO is fine.

Speaking of RAM make sure that they are firmly in place.
