Ok I looked at the pics on newegg for the DFI LP UT P45-T2RS and I'm like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot... wheres the Optical S/PDIF its not on the Bernstein Module..... So I download the manual off DFI...

Oh its there all right...... theres a pin out diagram for one.... its 5 pins.... where do I find some sort of extarnal bracket that has a Optical connector on one end and a 5 pin connectorr on the other?

What I'm looking for would be simlar to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/MSI-Motherboard-S-PDIF...1QQcmdZViewItem

Except without the coaxial and it would of course be 5 pin not 3.

I'm open to modding something just point me to something I could buy that is either already made or able to be modded to fit my needs.

The board does not come with an optical cable/connector. The easiest solution it to pick up an optical to coaxial converter. They're cheap enough. If that's not an option do a search at DFIClub. A while back I posted both a link to where a suitable cable could be purchased and the schematic and parts list to make one yourself.

All three of the listed connectors are the onboard sockets shown in the image posted by Compxpert. I'm pretty sure I know what accessories are included with DFI boards.

Yeah but its just the connection... I need the thing that goes inbetween that connector and the optical cable. Its too bad I only have an optical cable otherwise I wouldn't care.... Makes me wish I spent the extra buck and got coax instead. From what I can tell you didn't really read my post. It has one yes but it only has a connector not the actual optical connection... you would know that if you looked at the pic i posted.

You posted in a topic on clubdfi about such and mentioned a toshiba TOSLINK connection that I could hookup.... I can't find the post your mention that I should search for though... Gonna try to google that.

Hmm mythtv tells me how to make one. :Dhttp://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/How_t...l_SPDIF_bracket
