Well think again buddy.. Alienware has gaming lap tops with the following specs: Area-51M Extreme ----------------------------------------------- Alienware Magnesium Alloy Chassis Pentium Edited December 20, 2003 by Xtreme21
NewtWare Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 i dont think so. And no crap. Theve had laptops of that speed for months. Only a rich . punk would buy a laptop like that. I didnt know they had WIFI on airplanes. Ur not even aloud to have cell phones on. And everything has a customization page. Look at DELL and Gateway. All computer places have customizations. Do u work for them or something?

Special_K Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 dont worry about it. i find it rather amusing that they make gaming laptops, kinda cool tho. must be crap heavy and have really low battery life!
NewtWare Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 id be more worried about breaking it. U break a 1000 dollar dell and cry for a day. Break a 4 thousand dollar alienware and shoot your girlfriend
Xtreme21 Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 (edited) lol yah i would, also im sure they made a better battery then the ones they used use, or after 1 hour it goes dead.. bigred Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 first off user upgradeable video and cpu has been around for years. problem is by the time a new chip comes out the socket has changed. thus making it another 'big deal' that I wouldn't worry too much about. Overclocker16 Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Heavy, the Alienware laptops are around 8 pounds. Battery life, I believe it's around a couple ours. So not TOO bad considering what it is.
Xtreme21 Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Yah and it has a 16.1" screen, thats pretty good but i'd still customize it more then what it is
d3bruts1d Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 (edited) The Alienware laptops ARE overpriced. The laptops they use are manufactured by an ODM company, Clevo. You can buy the exact same laptop that AlienWare uses for 500+ cheaper than what Alienware has. The only thing is you don't get the plastic piece that Alienware adds to it, the Alienware name, or the Alienware logo. PCTorque and a few other companies that sell the same laptops actually have more colors available to paint the notebook.... ont to mention the full warrenty, and future upgrade posibilities.
