Benvidia Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Im abit new to all this raid stuff but I now want to give it a go. So I have a few questions. Firstly i want to go raid 0 for performance and thinking that two 320gb WD caviars are the best drives for the price in terms of read speeds and stuff. So on my 780i can i have the following setup? OCZ core 64gb boot drive, and, WD 320gb caviar X2 in raid 0 Secondly, is there any other devices or stuff i might need, such as floppy as i dont have one? Thanks Benvidia Edited September 22, 2008 by Benvidia
uneedav8 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Only if the RAID 0 is going to be the boot drive with windows XP, then you will need a floppy.
hardnrg Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 You could slipstream the RAID drivers into a custom XP CD, using nLite. That way you won't need a floppy drive at all. For the price of a floppy drive and a few disks, I find it easier just to put a floppy drive in my rigs rather than nLite a custom XP CD for every new motherboard... T3mpest Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 USB floppy drives should work for this, so you dont have to install one.
