I need a new sound card for my asus rampage board. My budget is $50 I could go higher but only if necessary. Anyone know of a nice sound card. I would search google and newegg, but I'm looking through peoples experiences and what they think are the best sound cards.

I had an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, for several years. It was good, but I got so fed up with Creative's drivers that I jumped ship and went with Auzentech.

The card I linked is pretty much equivalent. The drivers...just work. No fooling around with programs, nothing. Sound quality has been great, or rather, I've never heard anything unwanted coming from my stereo / headphones.

I've got an X-FI Xtreme Music(One with the actual chip, not the craptastic Xtreme Gamer) and I must say it sounds mighty nice in audio creation mode with bit-matched playback enabled. Foobar2000 + Windows kernel bypass + my 24-96 rip of Fasciinatiion = absolute win. Can be had real cheap online, too. ~$50 or so on ebay brand new or OEM new.

Not that I am using it on my blood iron board but when I used the onboard sound on it, I would always get annoying sounds coming in when I would be receiving text messages on my phone for some reason.

Thats your cell phone interfering with your speakers. Nothing to do with your sound car. Move your cell phone further away from your speakers or get properly shielded speakers.
