Buying Gaming Headset. Need Help Choosing.

Recommended Posts

I'm going to buy a new headset in a week or so and I need some help deciding which headset to buy. This headset will be used mostly for gaming (mic used for vent, teamspeak, and skype) so I am looking for good audio quality as well as a good quality mic. I will also be using the headset for watching movies and listening to music on my desktop computer. I am trying to keep the budget as low as possible, but I'm willing to go up to 65 ish USD. Here are some cheapish headsets I've found so far:

Turtle Beach X-52

Plantronics .Audio 770 Stereo Headset

Plantronics .Audio 650 Stereo Headset

and Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset

I'm looking for a headset to last as well as I don't I'll be buying another $20+ headset for a couple of years.

Thanks

I have the Turtle Beach HPA2 (the amplified non-folding version of the X52) and they are pretty awesome. They do get a bit uncomfortable after wearing for hours on end though (think 5+) because they put a bit of pressure on your ears but other than that I have no complaints. The sound quality is good and they dual subwoofers absolutely rock. :D

I have the Plantronics .Audio 770 Stereo Headset and they are awesome, used to have the logitech precision gaming headset, difference is night and day. I can listen to my music and it reminds me of sitting in my car with my system cranked.

By coincidence I have been looking for a set too. I am pretty convinced on going with the Fatality set. I have some other fatality products that I have been pleased with. It seem every set I have looked at has pros and cons so why not stick with a familiar name. I have read really good things about this set too:

I've got a set too. Not great for listening to music, but for gaming, specifically CSS directional sound, they are excellent!

I'd recommend you take a look at the Sony MDR7506---I've owned a pair since 2005 and they've carried me through more than a couple tournament firsts at this point. Incredibly well built, professional grade headphones that are as good for shooters as they are for music, IMO.

i have a problem with choosing my headset for gaming.

i play cod 2 and cod 4 but i want to listen music too. so i need something with what i can hear almost everything :)

i tought of buying steelseries 5hv2 but i dont have that kind of money for headset so i think to buy 4h or maybe just Sennheiser HD 202 (they dont have mic but people say that they have great sound). i also considered buying plantronics .audio 770 but they are terrible in music reproduction.

please do u have an idea for something in my price range? 25$ to 40-45 $?I prefer models with mices.

please help.
