NMY OC Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) First, hello everyone... I have Super Talent T800UX2GC4 memory kit but in my motherboard bios (Gigabyte M56S-S3, F4e flash) don't have option to change latencies to 4-4-3-8 (1T in some tests)... So, my latency is SPD for DDR2 memory 5-5-5-15 2T ("This kit has been tested and is guaranteed to operate at 800MHz at 4-4-3-8 latencies at 2.2 volts") HOW CAN I CHANGE IT TO 4-4-3-8 1T ??? I really appreciate any help! Edited September 13, 2008 by NMY OC
Crazy_Nate Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I'm not sure you're looking in the right location...there should be a DRAM menu in your BIOS. Set the voltage, then set your timings 4/4/3/8/1T would relate to the values of CAS/tRCD/tRP/tRAS/CMD. Wording / acronyms may vary from BIOS to BIOS. Praz Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Don't believe that model has any memory timing options.
Crazy_Nate Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Don't believe that model has any memory timing options. I think you're right. Just took a look at the manual. MB Intelligent Tweaker only allows minimal changes (CPU freq, PCIe clock, CPU clock ratio, chipset/memory/CPU voltages). I don't see any other menus. This is the problem, MB Intelligent Tweaker only allows minimal changes, not the memory timings... :S Have any software solution, like memtest86 ? :S PS : Thank's 4 answers... suedenim Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Don't you need to press a key when you enter the bios to get the advanced settings on Gigabyte boards?
Crazy_Nate Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Don't you need to press a key when you enter the bios to get the advanced settings on Gigabyte boards? Hmm, I didn't see anything like that when I looked at the manual... As for tweaking settings in windows, there are a couple programs, however I was unable to determine compatibility last night. Use at your own risk. A64 Tweaker is one that might just work... http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherb...mp;FileID=18066
Zertz Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Don't you need to press a key when you enter the bios to get the advanced settings on Gigabyte boards? Yeah on some of them, it's F1 IIRC
Crazy_Nate Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Q:In the BIOS Setup program, why are some BIOS options missing? A:Some advanced options are hidden in the BIOS Setup program. Press <Delete> to enter BIOS Setup during the POST. In the Main Menu, press <Ctrl>+<F1> to show the advanced options. Man, they make this difficult. NMY OC Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) Thanks a lot guys, it works, I'm get advanced options in bios and change my timings... JUST TO SAY, TIMINGS ARE NOW : 900MHz @ latency 45.2ns (4-4-3-8 2T @ 2.13V) (non stable 1T @ 900MHz, on 800MHz 4-4-3-8 1T works perfect @ 1.8V, not need to overvoltage) One more time, thanks to all...
