Very interesting straw poll here and much tighter that I had thought, 50-50 after 48 votes, looks like it's going to be a close call.

Pretty much the way it's always going to be in this country unless something changes.

*sigh*

He doesn't support socialism, stop spouting crap. He's not planning on nationalizing the entire private sector, he's not planning on raising taxes to a crippling level, and he's not planning on sticking every single American on welfare. Plus, if you think he's a socialist, you might as well call John McCain a xenophobic, war mongering, sexist, racist fascist. I'm not naive enough to believe that nonsense, so there's no reason to vilify the Democrat either.

The Republicans don't have anything of interest to offer Americans and so they've resorted to attacking their opponent. They're trying to turn this election from an issues one to a character one, and that's simply criminal. This should be an issues driven election, the candidates have an obligation to the American people. So how about we focus on the issues rather than slinging mud at the other guy.

Lol, and Obama hasn't been doing the exact same thing?

Here's a hint for you: He has. Extensively.

Revelation!

I truly find the vocal supporters of either of these candidates absolutely hilarious. The BS both sides creates about the other is just so....pathetic. Here's an idea, if you honestly cannot put yourself in another person's shoes and see from their point of view you really need to stop what you're doing and start thinking more. I'm not saying become a philosopher or psychiatrist, just try.

"nothing of interest to offer Americans"???

Nothing at all huh, can't even see one thing? Do you just spout what you hear your Democratic buddies ###### and moan about? The sad thing is many Republicans would say the exact same thing about Obama's campaign. It's like 40% of the country literally thinks exactly the same, another 40% thinks the other way, then the rest of us are just tired of hearing the stupidity fly.

This isn't totally directed at you Kash, I'm just tired of hearing the same crap all the damn time.

And for the record, whether you like it or not Obama's ideals can very well be called socialistic. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing! People just attribute socialism to fascism and carry the latter's negative connotations along with it. Hell, we have all kinds of socialist programs already in effect in this country and most people don't ###### about them. They key is that some people just disagree about what is good socialism, what is bad socialism, and what is a waste of my damn money. We all have differing opinions on this, and depending on your individual needs differing decisions can be easily understood.

So here's a project for you:

Can you imagine why somebody would want national healthcare?

Can you imagine a situation that one would not want this?

And don't be so shortsighted as to say "well that redneck just doesn't want to pay more taxes, he just doesn't know this is better for him". Try and come up with a real, thought-out reason for both.

And then do the same for these:

Can you imagine why someone would want to leave Iraq now?

Can you imagine why some would believe the above is a bad idea?

And again, how about we don't go with "he's just a war-mongering pile of...", think of a real reason.

I'm going to go eat bacon now.

:withstupid:

I'd have too agree that those statements that were made against Obama have no merit to them.

If you ask me I think the Republicans are trying to scam the whole election. Like the only reason why Palin was nominated to be vice president was to steal away the Clinton supporters from Obama to Mccian. I think Republican candidates only care about the well being of Corporate America and just use the middle class votes to get into office. Once there in office they stop listening to the commoners and do what ever the please and use excuses to explain why they haven't done anything to help the common voter.
