Crazy_Nate Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Are you running all 4 DIMMs at once? If so, does it do this if you run two separate pairs?
logan75 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Are you running all 4 DIMMs at once? If so, does it do this if you run two separate pairs? yes 4 at once, and im going to check on that if its stay the same or not, never had that in mind though, thanks, post again later for the result,
logan75 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Are you running all 4 DIMMs at once? If so, does it do this if you run two separate pairs? i removed the pair of mushkin, but it's 'till the same, cpuz sees the ocz pc2-8500 as pc2-5300, and so with the pair of mushkin, nothing change,
Crazy_Nate Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I'm more curious as why it says DDR3 on the first screenshot. As long as it's reading the frequency and timings correctly, showing dual channel, I would not really worry about what it's reading as the "max bandwidth". Check your part numbers with OCZ's...verify that the memory will run what it's rated at, and set things explicitly in BIOS. Other than that, there's not much you can do. logan75 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) yah, its weird, but if you are going to choose, which pair are you going to use, i've been thinking to dump the other 2 gigs, and they say it's hard to oc when you have 4 sticks, Edited August 1, 2008 by logan75
Great_Gig Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 OK, it is not unusual for the correct SPD not to be recognised by the board. For the P5Q series go into the BIOS Ai Tweaker Menu and you can manually set your memory frequency and timings from there. Make sure your modules are both in the Yellow sockets (DIMM_A1 & DIMM_B1) for Dual Channel mode and the yellow sockets are better for overclocking on the P5Q's. The new OCZ PC2-8500 Platinum Series is equipped with NVIDIA Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP) to optimize the modules performance on nForce

bg8780 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 What does SPD mean and what are the JEDEC and EPP profiles so much different in regards to MHz and Command rates, timings and voltage?
